Vita
Armin Schieb is a freelance M.A. Illustrator. He was born in 1982 and grew up in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. In 2004 he went to Hamburg to study illustration at the HAW Hamburg. In 2010 he earned a diploma in communication design with focus on illustration. In 2017 he earned a master’s degree in illustration with focus on informative illustration. Since then he lives and works in Hamburg and Bremen. He started working as a freelancer in 2012 and is represented by the SEPIA illustration agency.
He is interested in scientific and technical topics, and speculative fiction. As an illustrator, he is engaged in the visual transfer of knowledge and the design of non-fiction books. His 3D illustrations, sometimes combined with graphic elements, can visualize complex information and relationships.
His illustrations have been published in magazines and newspapers such as ADAC Motorwelt, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, GEO kompakt, Harvard Business Manager, New Scientist, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Stern, SZ Langstrecke und DIE ZEIT. He also illustrated book jackets for the Aladin publishing house.
His non-fiction book “The Ant Collective” was published by KOSMOS Verlag in March 2020.
