A realistic illustration of a dangerous germ culture and a series of vignettes for an article about multi-resistant germs in hospitals. Created for the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Description
The task for this illustration was to visualize the threat posed by multi-resistant germs by using a germ culture in a Petri dish. Pictures of normal germ cultures were used for inspiration. The threatening appearance of the illustrated germ culture was achieved through a strong enlargement of the germs and their plastic emergence from the red nutrient solution.

An additional task was to create several small illustrations of different germ shapes.
